TYMAWN
Building a Brighter Future for All
Tymawn is a charitable organisation dedicated to providing cost effective accommodation to enable young people to access the great outdoors.
GENERAL INFORMATION
Tymawn is a small self-contained cottage standing approximately 900 feet above the village of Llanberis in Gwynedd on the North West approaches to Snowdonia. The cottage and adjoining buildings have been extensively converted to provide basic accommodating for groups of up to 16 in number.
The cottage is well placed for a great variety of activities - hill walking, rock climbing, canoeing, photography and many other outdoor pursuits. The area is also rich in opportunity for geographers, biologists and geologists. The mountains, streams and lakes provide materials for all types of studies. Evidence of a long period of settlement can be studied in the pre-historic, Roman, early Christian and Welsh medieval remains in the district. The industrial archaeologist will find a wealth of material in the now abandoned mines and slate quarries in the area.
